5th Annual
Summer Solstice
(fka: Columbia Gorge) Run
June 19th, Saturday 10 am
from the west parking lot of Edgefield.
We are meeting for breakfast at 0830 - 0900 if you choose to join us.
The Pacific Northwest Roadsters are proud to host
the 5th year of the Summer Solstice Run.
Well Toni and I just got back from making the run. I am very excited about this run. As you know the Columbia Gorge is one of the most picturesque places and add to it the fantastic twisty roads and it's hard to compare or find something even remotely as spectacular!!
I guess what I found the most interesting about the gorge right now is that with all of the rain and snow on the mountains, the waterfalls are just overflowing. I don't think I've ever seen seen them so full. The mountains are nothing but snow from top to bottom, which is sosmething we rarely see in June!
So if you like what I am describing, you have to make this run.
Here is a picture we took today.
Things to bring:
Radio - so you can keep up on the car-to-car action!
Camera - so you can take my picture :)
Sunscreen - this day is declared a no fry zone.
Windbreaker - because it's windy
Water and a snack - to keep your co-pilot happy :)
On June 19th, If you want to meet early for breakfast, we're meeting 0830-0900 at the Black Rabbit, which is a restaurant in the McMenamin's Edgefield Lodge, located at 2126 SW Halsey st. Troutdale, Oregon 97060
We are leaving promptly at 10am !!!!! we are leaving from
the Edgefield - west parking lot
Lunch will be at a restaurant and we'll end the run at a wine tasting room.
*** Note: This event is free for PNWR members in good standing (by Wed.Jun 16)
